A sparkling entrepreneur, a sparking terroir

A company based on a dream: to turn a family passion into a business.

Terre Gaie

One Friday evening in 2003, Salvatore Lovo received a call from his daughter Silvia in the United States. “Dad, we’re creating our own brand.” And it all went on from there. Salvatore Lovo is a wine consultant with an entrepreneurial spirit. In the mid ‘90s he set up Eno2000, a wine bottling equipment rental company, and it proved a success. With Terre Gaie, a spumante and prosecco concern set up in 2004, Salvatore Lovo wished to promote and become a standard bearer for the area he loves: the volcanic hills of the Colli Euganei.

“How do I choose new candidates?
I look them in the eye.”

Salvatore Lovo, CEO of Terre Gaie.

Cross paths by chance and keep by choice.

A life divided between Tuscany, Le Marche and Veneto as a consultant for wineries has allowed Salvatore Lovo to create a trusted network of professionals in the sector. These are the crossroads at which Terre Gaie can be found. It is an awareness that has led Salvatore and Silvia Lovo to focus on innovation. The result? Sustainability, industry 4.0, industrialisation of the winemaking, bottling and packaging process, exports at 60%, and employees with an average age of 33. In fact, the crossroads are those with the right people, but which can be crossed only by keeping the door open to a vision and the future.

Terre Gaie is a company in the wine sector with a turnover of 5 million euros per year. In 2017 it obtained a return on capital of 33.56%. Exports reached 60% and now, after a few initial years of contract production, Terre Gaie mainly produces wine under its own brand. The entrepreneurial vision is that of looking towards the future without urgency, one step at a time. It has led to self-financing and thoughtful innovation.

Sustainability

Terre Gaie is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its wine production: it uses energy-efficient structures and processes, such as a Passive House certification plan, and collaborates with universities to find solutions to the issue of pollution in the field.

Digital innovation

The company uses technology to ensure constant control of the machinery (tele-assistance) and production that is increasingly respectful of the land.
