One meal at a time, together

Every day, the “One meal at a time” project recovers food that is still good from industries, supermarkets, company canteens, schools, and fruit and vegetable markets. All products that, instead of being wasted, are redistributed for free to people and families in need. It is an organised and efficient system, consisting of warehouses, refrigerated vans, volunteers, technologies and a network of more than seven thousand local authorities.

Thanks to this model, the Banco Alimentare Foundation transforms waste into a resource and food into a gesture of care, bringing concrete help to every corner of Italy.

Impact measurement

Banco Alimentare is among the Kaleidos projects chosen for Impact Measurement, an activity developed to give economic value to the changes brought about by the social projects we support.

Why we support the project

In a country where a significant part of the population lives in absolute poverty, and where more and more children are at risk of going without a meal, we feel the responsibility to do our part. We support “One meal at a time” and the Banco Alimentare Foundation because we believe that having a hot meal is a fundamental right, and we want to contribute to making solidarity a daily and concrete action. Similarly, we believe that combating food waste is essential for creating a more sustainable and inclusive community.

Our contribution of €1 million has made it possible to distribute the equivalent of 10 million meals to people in need.

Banco Alimentare Onlus Foundation

The Banco Alimentare Foundation has been active since 1989, working to give a second life to food that is still good, recovering it and distributing it free of charge to those who truly need it. Thanks to a network of 21 regional offices and thousands of local organisations, it manages to be present throughout Italy, bringing concrete help to families and people in need.
