Sebastien Egon Fürstenberg was born in Losanna (Switzerland) in 1950; in 1983 he founded Banca IFIS, a company specialized in factoring and listed in the STAR segment of the Italian Stock Exchange in Milan and is its Chairman. Since 1992, he has been the sole director of La Scogliera, the company that controls Gruppo Banca IFIS.
The idea to set up Banca IFIS began when Fürstenberg was the financial mind behind the company Americanino (a company which produced and distributed the jeans used by the Italian ‘80s young fashion addict), in order to discount invoices and simplify credit collection.
Fürstenberg left Americanino in 1985 to dedicate himself to the development of Banca IFIS supporting small and medium enterprises.
Son of Clara Agnelli and Tassilo Fürstenberg, Sebastien Egon Fürstenberg worked shortly in companies of the Agnelli Group, before setting off his own entrepreneurial path. He loves to study 1800s and 1900s history and to discover new places during his long voyages on his sailing boat.
